A member of the Philippine Bar, with approximately 22 years legal experience particularly in judicial and quasi-judicial litigations, and taxation, corporate, investment, labor, contract, and intellectual property laws.

Ms. Lani Barcenas assists clients secure corporate registrations with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), comply with its regulatory requirements, and register and comply with the regulatory requirements of other related government agencies. She also advises clients in relation to Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) registrations and other applicable fiscal incentives. She provides guidance to clients in corporate and tax planning, as well as advise on the tax implications of their various transactions.

Ms. Lani Barcenas assists clients with their tax protests and represents them before the Court of Tax Appeals and the Supreme Court in tax litigations. She also assists clients with their intellectual property registrations, including trademark / trade name and industrial design registrations with the Intellectual Property Office. She has extensive experience in family law cases, such as declaration of nullity of marriages, custody and support, and applications for protection orders.

Ms. Lani Barcenas’ extensive experience in labor practice include providing advice to companies on labor standards and labor relations, conducting administrative investigations on company personnel, assisting in union issues, including, but not limited to, collective bargaining agreement (CBA) negotiations, certification elections, and assisting clients in labor arbitration and litigation.

Ms. Lani Barcenas advised clients in the following industries: business process outsourcing, hotels carrying international brands, banking, multi-national trading, car sales and service centers, manufacturing, including, but not limited to, electronic and semi-conductor companies, and the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas.

Ms. Lani Barcenas is formerly a senior attorney at Alonso and Associates and was an attorney at Yngson and Associates. She was a lecturer on labor law, with a focus on hotel and restaurant operations, at the College of St. Benilde, and is also a Philippine Certified Public Accountant. She obtained a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of the Philippines, College of Law and a Bachelor of Science in Commerce degree from the University of Nueva Caceres, graduating cum laude.
